ECOH Expanded & Enhanced Services
March 26, 2020
ECOH is listening to our clients and responding.
Our COVID-19 team led by our most senior Certified Industrial Hygienists are ready to assist with consulting and training services to control the spread of COVID-19.
Disinfection Procedures for Coronavirus Contamination
ECOH has developed detailed cleaning and disinfection procedures, drawing on the recommendations published by leading public health authorities. These procedures are designed for use by properly trained staff and contractors to disinfect work areas, either proactively or following a report of presumptive or confirmed COVID-19. By utilizing ECOH and these procedures our clients are able to address workplace contamination challenges using defensible methods developed by industry-leading experts.

Third-Party Oversight of Cleaning Operations
ECOH develops site-specific cleaning/disinfecting procedures, trains cleaning staff and monitors, documents and reports on cleaning activities. ECOH has an established, 20-year history of providing these types of services. Many professional health and safety organizations have reported the value and importance of third-party oversight to provide the client with the confidence that the cleaning was thorough, complete, and conducted in accordance with accepted practice. Surface testing is also available to give additional confidence that the cleaning was comprehensive and effective.
Contractor Training
ECOH provides specific COVID-19 training for cleaning staff and environmental contractors. Training is required to meet employer obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, demonstrate due diligence regarding contractor safety management, and generally promote safe and established work procedures. Our training programs were developed using the most up-to-date recommendations from several public health and professional associations, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Given the importance of this training, ECOH has assigned only Certified Industrial Hygienists to deliver this course. A typical course outline is provided below. Please note that the course content is modified to meet the specific needs of our clients.
1. COVID-19: What is it? Modes of transmission
2. General precautions for preventing spread of virus
3. Specific policies, procedures, equipment and supplies for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces
4. Personal Protective Equipment (selection, limitations, donning and doffing, proper use, disposal)
5. Fit-testing of respirators (offered, if required)
We understand you have many questions and may appreciate guidance or reassurance in your efforts to provide some order in this complex and evolving issue. Please do not hesitate to connect with us.
Call or email me directly at any time, or your ECOH contact.
Sincerely,
Mark Lai, President
