ECOH is Celebrating 20 Years in Business

Dear Friends,

ECOH is twenty…in 2020! Had we known then what we know now we would have started the company on February 2nd, just so we could hold an epic palindrome party on 02 02 2020.

At the start of the new millennium, Y2K was the threat du jour, commercial use of the internet was only about four years old and Blackberry was the hot new gadget. In the Environmental Consulting world, mould awareness was “growing”, asbestos was still being mined in Quebec and the Ontario Professional Geoscientists Act had just been published.

Prior to the official start of ECOH, three young(er) environmental professionals, John Lewis, Om Malik and Mark Lai (fondly/frostily referred to as JOM) each had separate consulting firms. Each would sub-contract work to one another to meet the increasing demand and trust of their clients. JOM soon recognized their collective synergy and merged to form one, client-focused company offering specialized consulting services in Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety and Hazardous Materials – and we continue to be industry leaders in these areas to this day.

Thanks to a strong commitment to our common vision of protecting people, property and planet, the past two decades have seen ECOH and ECOHites showered in accolades for outstanding service and remarkable achievements, and ECOH has enjoyed steady growth year after year. This year our “2020 vision” will continue to focus on exemplary customer service, growth of services and increasing the number office locations.
